Army O-4 and Former Commander Retained by Board

Fort Polk, Louisiana–High-speed former company commander was retained by a Board of Inquiry held at the Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, Louisiana.

This field grade officer took on the mantle of command, but ultimately had an AR 15-6 substantiated against him, as he made the mistake of putting mission before people, without recognition in time to be handled at his level. Based on the Army requirements, removing him from command in the last months of his tour wasn’t enough–he was brought to a Board of Inquiry (often called a discharge board) to prove his value to the Army outside of command.

Luckily, this officer had retained Veritas Military Law from the outset, and together they executed a months-long strategy that culminated in his retention (even though his detailed military counsel from Trial Defense Services told him there was no hope in fighting).

“If I could rate Veritas Military Law more than 5 stars I would. I was a client of Veritas Military Law for 9 months. I started by cold-calling this firm in search of someone to assist me with my legal issues in my time of career crisis. I had never heard of Veritas and went with a simple search. I am so glad I decided to just call. I was able to answer a set of simple questions at first and we quickly got to work with. Every step of the way, I felt heard with no judgement, much patience, and an open ear. During an initial meeting, we were able to see my situation for what it was and then develop a short term and long term strategy to put my best foot forward. It was after this point when I realized I could suspend my apprehension and angst to trust the process. Josh and his team were there for me in my worst career moments and I truly knew I was taken care of. My case meant a lot to me and I knew it meant a lot to them. Often, JAGs/attorneys will rack and stack other cases against the current one and offer up some kind of relative scale to compare mine against others; this was not the case at all.

The work Josh and the team did was •••••• to ••••. It was timely, professional, well documented and excellent work. Through working with Josh, I knew it was resolving my case favorably was not a guarantee, but I was very confident in the outcome.

Josh traveled out to my location to represent me in person and came well prepared. This greatly put me at ease and helped me relax. During the preparation for the hearing, I never felt rushed and knew we were covering absolutely every angle. He ran circles around the prosecution and it was clear that good preparation won the day. Josh was patient and tactically-minded reminding me that it wasn’t a win/done deal until the result was announced and his actions reflected.

I recommend Josh and his team to anyone needing outstanding representation in a military career crisis. He is the best and will do his best, even if you don’t think you deserve it because of the situation you are in. No matter the situation, give Veritas a go to give yourself the •••• chance.”
