JBSA-Fort Sam Houston, TX–Over the last decade, there seems to have been a shift across the board in the military where alleged victims have gained so much power that many leaders are walking on eggshells.
However, leadership tasks still must get done. Holding people accountable must still happen. Leading down and up is still a requirement for military officers.
That’s exactly what happened in this case, where a Lieutenant Colonel did the job expected of her and stood her ground appropriately. But when someone didn’t like it–an AR 15-6 investigation was initiated.
Unfortunately, for strong field grade officers, 15-6 investigations and commander-directed investigations have become commonplace when leaders are leaders. So Veritas Military Law stepped in and helped this O-5 respond under oath to false allegations of bullying and counterproductive leadership.
With the right assistance, this LTC was able to put this issue aside and re-focus on the mission.
